2020 Graduate Software Engineer – CPU

Job Description:
The CPU Engineering Team within Arm China develops key technology that is at the heart of many electronic products. You will join a dynamic, collaborative and highly motivated team to help craft the direction of our world leading CPU IP. We are looking for enthusiastic graduate engineers to join Arm China and help shape the future of technology in the development of next-generation CPUs that will power billions of devices world-wide.
Roles and responsibilities:
.Designing and implementing software of embedded devices and systems
.Designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging system software
.Analyze, monitor and improve efficiency, stability of the system/platform
.Provide resolution to customer queries and reproduce customer issues on internal platforms
.Interface with hardware design and development
Essential skillset:
.Embedded software/firmware development skills in C or C++ programming languages
.Knowledge of scripting languages, especially Perl, Python
.Familiarity with open source projects and their working models
.Understanding of computer architecture, memory/bus architecture, and debug/trace architecture.
.Understanding of software engineering development practices
.Creativity and ability to communicate ideas effectively
.Good interpersonal team-working skills, self-motivated and results focused
Desirable skillset:
.Exposure to variety of programming languages such as CPU assembly languages (preferably ARM), C/C++, or Perl/TCL/Python scripts, XML/JSON markup languages
.Knowledge of the internal operation of compilers
.Knowledge of software optimization and instrumentation techniques
.Experience developing software for Linux or Android based systems.
.Experience in performance or power analysis methodologies, compliance test and certification, as well as software verification
.Knowledge of full Software development life-cycle including specification design, test and documentation.
2020 Graduate Hardware Engineer - Video Codec IP
Responsibilities:
- Develop IP modules including module spec, macro architecture, RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis and fixing;
- IP level or IP block level verification, integration/implementation;
- Develop IP/modules, testing and regression plan;
- Design and develop verification environment;
- Running RTL simulations/regression;
- Code/functional coverage development, analysis and closure;
- Contribute to verification methodologies, and tool chains;
- Support/cooperate with FPGA verification engineer for IP FPGA validation;
- Support customers regarding Video IP hardware integration, application, testing and verification
Requirements:
- MS/PHD/in EE /CS or related IT technology fields;
- Skilled in the field of digital circuit design, some digital design flow and EDA tools;
- Skilled in some of the following disciplines: RTL coding, C coding, Catapult C coding, simulation, synthesis/DFT/STA. Knowledge about catapult C design flow is a plus;
- Familiar with design and verification languages (Verilog/System Verilog/SVA etc.);
- Familiar with at least 1 scripting language in Perl/Python/Cshell/Bash/Makefile etc;
- Familiar with C/C++ is better;
- Knowledge of some of the following: H.264, H.265, MPEG, JPEG, AVS, AVS+ decoder & encoder is a plus;
- Good Mandarin and English communication skills;
- team work and effective working under high pressure.
